Dokha For Valentine’s Day
It’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow and we have a smash and grab sale of Dokha For Your Valentine offer which is too good to miss!
You may think that Dokha is expensive compared to the prices you pay in the UAE for an equivalent blend. Unfortunately the dreaded Taxman takes a huge chunk to prop up his coffers and that is the only reason for the hike in the cost between Dokha you can purchase very cheaply in the UAE and what you pay elsewhere in the world.
If you don’t know already what Dokha is then here is a wee tutorial!
Dokha tobacco was first grown way back in the day – in fact it can be traced back to the 15th Century when Shepherds tended their flocks in the mountainous regions of Iran and the UAE. The Shepherds carved a pipe from animal bones and pieces of wood to smoke the Dokha Arabic tobacco.
Today there are complex irrigation systems deployed which are controlled manually to ensure that the plants don’t dry out as the region is essentially arid desert. The tobacco plants are attended to by local farmers, with centuries of knowledge of the care and attention these delicate, high yielding tobacco plants require. On a daily basis, the farmers remove any weeds and pests that appear and generally keep the plants in tip top condition, without the use of pesticides or herbicides. The plants are grown at high altitude and the cool air of the evenings help to keep the plants from growing too quickly, however, with large amounts of sunshine during the day the plants get going and grow very quickly. They can usually get two yields per season. Harvesting usually takes place around August when the plants are hung out to dry in sheltered hangers in the arid desert sunshine before being processed into the precious Dokha blends we have all come to love.
This offer is subject to availability and obviously the sooner you purchase your Valentine’s Day Dokha the sooner you can enjoy this fantastic blend. Yes, we usually have a ‘Random Bucket’ blend in stock most of the time, however, this particular offering is very special as it is made from the premium top leaves of the plant and when it’s gone it’s gone!
Dokha For Valentine’s Day – with much love from the Enjoy Dokha team…
