Chasing the Buzz with Dokha
Chasing the Buzz with Dokha
Chasing the ‘Buzz‘ with Dokha Arabic tobacco can sometimes be a distraction and also frustrating, as regular Dokha smokers will tell you the best time to smoke Dokha is first thing in the morning. It is at that time of the day the Dokha buzz is more intense and will last longer, simply because your nicotine tolerance is lower after sleeping. How long the Dokha buzz lasts is down to the individual’s metabolism and how often they partake of it, but usually it will last between 10 – 30 seconds. If you smoke Dokha later in the day, or you smoke regularly throughout the day then your tolerance level also grows, and the ‘buzz’ will not be as intense as your first smoke of the day – so don’t go chasing the ‘buzz’!
Dokha, or Dooka as it’s colloquially known, is translated into English as the word ‘dizzy’ and is also synonymous with the term ‘dakha’, which means ‘to hit’ – that is where the term Dokha ‘Buzz‘ comes from. We always advise that if you are a beginner to smoking Dokha, you should sit down while smoking it, and most definitely not operate machinery or drive while doing so.

Now that you have some inkling of the meaning of the ‘Buzz’ that Dokha Tobacco can give, you will also need to know something about how to smoke it and what to smoke it in!
How to smoke Dokha
Simples – pack the bowl of your favourite Medwakh pipe – Fill it with Dokha and press the tobacco down (known as tampering), if it won’t stay lit, or if you can’t draw it through your Medwakh, then it’s packed too tightly and that’s the only limitation.
Breathe out, light the bowl and inhale normally and hold it for a few seconds – if you can, then take a second hit without exhaling the first, that’s the way to get the best result! When you finally exhale, you will be chasing the buzz with Dokha!
Anatomy of a Medwakh pipe
Medwakh smoking pipes tend to be much smaller than Western tobacco pipes, and the Dokha itself is more concentrated so less is required to experience an exhilarating smoke.
Bowl size and shape can also have an affect on the smoking experience as a whole. Larger bowls tend to make the smoke more aromatic as it doesn’t all burn immediately. While smaller bowls will smoke faster and usually hotter. It’s all down to personal preference!
Stem length is usually around 6 inches but Enjoy Dokha sell a Medwakh pipe that is called Footlong….literally 12 inches long.
There are lots of scintillating blends to choose from when you shop with Enjoy Dokha.
